ENERGY COLONIALISM: WHO GAVE THEM THE RIGHT TO DECIDE?
Kenya wanted to build a data center. A step toward African technological sovereignty — our own infrastructure, our own digital future. International climate policy shut it down. Let's be honest about what that is.
The same powerful nations now lecturing Africa about emissions are the ones who built their wealth on coal, oil, and unchecked industry for over a century. They filled the air and water with industrial pollutants. They buried atomic waste and called it progress. They never asked permission. They never paused for the planet when their economies were the ones being built.
Now that it's Africa's turn to modernize, suddenly there are rules. Suddenly there are limits. Suddenly "the environment" is the reason a continent can't have what every developed nation already took for itself.
That is not climate protection. That is energy colonialism — the old control dressed up in green language.
Who gave them the right to decide when Africa develops, and on whose terms? The countries with the dirtiest history are the last ones who should be holding the gate. Africa's path to independence is not theirs to ration.
